Arthur J. Zinsmaster was born November 7, 1916 in Moorcroft, Crook County, Wyoming. During World War II, assigned to the 201st CIC under commanding officer Captain Victor I. Cook in Australia. Nicknamed "Z" the first letter of his surname.
He participated in three combat operations. First, on April 22, 1944 the amphibious landing at Hollandia and campaign ashore. Second, the May 1944 campaign on Biak Island. Third, the January 9, 1945 amphibious landing at Lingayen Gulf and campaign.
He passed away January 18, 1997 at age 88. He is buried at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California at the Columbarium of Remembrance & Radiance, Space 62126.
